Private Reece was a member of the 69th Field Artillery Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on 25 December 1953 at Kimpo, South Korea.

Private Reece was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
