|
Sergeant Nichols was a member of the 6531st Flight test Squadron at Griffiss Air Force Base, New York. On 17 January 1952, he was the radio operator of a B-17 bomber when it crashed near Griffith Air Force Base killing him and the pilot. Nichols was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. |
