First Lieutenant Logoyda was the pilot of a F-86E Sabrejet fighter bomber with the 16th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 51st Fighter-Interceptor Group. On 1 January 1952, while returning from a combat mission, the aircraft's fuel exhausted, its landing gear malfunctioned and it crashed at Suwon Airfield (K-13).
Logoyda was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
