Private Roybal was a member of the 1st Marine Division. He died of other causes in Korea on 22 March 1954.

Roybal was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
