Private First Class Thunder Horse was a member of Headquarters and Service Company, 10th Engineer Combat Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. On 1 November 1951, he was driving a 3/4 ton truck in South Korea and missed a curve causing the truck to overturn and kill him.

Thunder Horse was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
