Corporal Escobar was a member of Battery C, 12th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He contracted hemorrhagic fever and was taken to the 11th Evacuation Hospital where he died on 22 July 1952.

Escobar was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
