Private First Class Bohle was a member of the 11th Airborne Division. On 3 October 1951, he was a member of a four man parachute jump team, jumping at the Dayton, Ohio air show. After the jump they were riding in a pickup going back to their assembly area, when the truck hit an abutment, killing all four members.

Bohle was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
