|
Airman First Class Furnberg was the flight engineer of a B-29 Superfortress Bomber with the 2nd Air Rescue Squadron, 2nd Bomber Wing based at Hunter Air Force Base, Georgia. On 10 July 1953, his aircraft crashed about seven miles from Hunter AFB, killing all 10 crew members. Furnberg was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. |
