Corporal Morse was a member of the Telephone and Telegraph Company, 4th Signal Battalion, U.S. Army. He died of other causes on 19 January 1951 near Kyong Ju, South Korea.

Morse was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
