Alfred Hiram Agan During the Korean War, Capt Agan was the pilot of a F4U-4 Corsair fighter plane with Marine Fighter Squadron 212, Marine Air Group 12 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bataan (CVL-29). During a bombing run on enemy positions on 20 January 1951, Capt Agan's aircraft was damaged by the explosion from his bombs and he crash landed in the water one mile off shore and 11 miles south of Inchon, South Korea. Upon the arrival of rescuers, they found Capt Agan dead from exposure. Medals, Awards and Badges Purple Heart Burial Captain Alfred Hiram Agan is buried at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, San Diego County, CA, in Section L, Site 291. |
