Private First Class Morales was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on 25 November 1950 near Pukchang, North Korea.

Morales was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
