Sergeant Weaver was a member of the 1st Platoon, Company E, 2nd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in Korea on 3 April 1953 and returned to duty on 11 April 1953. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on 11 June 1953.

Weaver was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
