Clyde Edwin Davis
He was employed by the Soil Conservation Service in Manhattan, KS, from 1936 to 1943. He married Charlotte Ruth Weaver on 19 November 1937, and they initially lived in Manhattan, KS. Clyde and Charlotte had two children: Lynette (born 1941) and Ronald (born 1949). Military Service At the age of 30, Clyde enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He received his basic training in San Diego, CA. He reached the rank of Corporal before leaving the Marines. He fell in love with the San Diego area and decided to live there following his military service. Post- Military Life In October 1950, the family moved to Estes Park, CO and, a year later, moved to Vista, CA. His last job was as a carpenter, working out of Carpenter's Local 2078, on the new San Onofre Power Plant near San Clemente, CA. Death and Burial Clyde Edwin Davis died on 21 August 1964. He is buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, San Diego County, CA, in Plot A-B, 687. & |
