Sergeant Drummond was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He developed acute bacterial endocarditis, brain abscess and intracranial hemorrhage. He was evacuated to the 21st Station Hospital where he died on 7 September 1953.
Drummond was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
