Airman Second Class Davis was the tail gunner of a B-26B Invader bomber with the 37th Bomber Squadron, 17th Bomber Wing, stationed at Pusan Airfield (K-9), Pusan, South Korea. On 13 January 1953, shortly after take off from Pusan, his aircraft crashed into the sea and exploded, killing all three on board. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
Davis was awarded the Air Medal, the Purple Heart the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
