Corporal Bott was a member of the Tapon Center Exchange, Detachment #1, 8043rd Army Unit. On 14 March 1952, he was accidentally electrocuted when a high tension cable touched a conveyor he was running.

Bott was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
