Private First Class Baker was a member of Headquarters Company, 6th Ordnance Group. He died of other causes on 27 April 1952 at the 121st Evacuation Hospital at Seoul, South Korea.

Baker was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
