|
First Lieutenant Meyer was the pilot in a F-82 Twin Mustang night fighter with the 68th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 6160th Air Base Wing. On 7 August 1950, while on a combat mission southwest of Chinju, he dropped an emergency flare and crashed. His remains were recovered. Meyer was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
