Command Sergeant Major Ronnie R. Kelley is a native of Bryan, TX, and enlisted in the U.S. Army on 16 July 1985. His 27-year career includes previous assignments across CONUS, Germany, and in Korea. He has served as an M60A3 tank driver and gunner, M1A1 gunner and tank commander, Tank Platoon Sergeant, Observer Controller, and First Sergeant. His most recent assignment to the 1st Cavalry Division included duty as the Operations Sergeant Major for 2nd Brigade Combat Team (BLACKJACK), Command Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment (BLACK KNIGHTS), and Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (GREYWOLF). Command Sergeant Major Kelley's current assignment is Command Sergeant Major of 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, TX. He has completed all levels of the noncommissioned officers' professional education. CSM Kelley's operational deployments include Bosnia (OPERATION FOAL EAGLE) and Iraq (OPERATION DESERT SHIELD AND STORM, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (3 tours), and OPERATION NEW DAWN). Medals, Awards and Badges Bronze Star Medal (4 Awards) In addition, CSM Kelley is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club; has received the Order of St. George and Order of Saint Maurice;and is a member of the Excellence in Armor Program. |
