Bruce Arthur Manton was born on 22 November 1945.

On 20 May 1967, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Bruce Arthur Manton was serving with Headquarters & Service Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Force, in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, HM2 Manton was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
