Robert William Lindgren was born on 10 July 1947.

On 21 November 1967, Specialist Four Robert William Lindgren was serving with B Company, 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade, in Kontum Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Lindgren was killed in action and died while missing after sustaining multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered.
