Daniel Stephen Lazar was born on 15 November 1950.

On 10 October 1970, Lance Corporal Daniel Stephen Lazar was serving with G Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Force, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, LCpl Lazar was killed in action when he sustained multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered.
