Raymond Roland Lapointe was born on 10 February 1948.

On 10 September 1967, Lance Corporal Raymond Roland Lapointe was serving with K Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Force, in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, LCpl Lapointe was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
