Private Owens was a member of the 558th Transportation Amphibious Truck Company, 21st Transportation Medium Port. On 28 January 1953, he drowned while operating an amphibious vehicle at Inchon, South Korea. Owens was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal. |
