On 25 November 1968, Corporal Lawrence David Kutchey was serving with B Company, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, CPL Kutchey was killed in action after sustaining wounds from an explosive device. His body was recovered.
