Kenneth Lavern Keller was born on 14 February 1950.

On 11 February 1970, Sergeant Kenneth Lavern Keller was serving with Headquarters & Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 320th Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SGT Keller was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
