On 7 February 1968, Private First Class Everett Eugene Justice, Jr. was serving with K Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Justice was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
