Percy A. Decker Lieutenant, U.S. Navy Medal of Honor Recipient Occupation of Veracruz Lieutenant Percy A. Decker (4 August 1890 - 18 August 1936) was a U.S. Navy officer who, as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class, received the U.S. military's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic actions during the Occupation of Veracruz. Percy A. Decker was born on 4 August 1890 in New York City, NY. Medal of Honor Rank and organization: Boatswain's Mate Second Class, U.S. Navy Citation: On board the U.S.S. Florida during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 April 1914; for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico. Death and Burial Lieutenant Percy A. Decker died on 18 August 1936. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, in Section 7, Lot 10302. |
