Frederick Muller Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy Medal of Honor Recipient Spanish-American War Lieutenant Commander Frederick Muller (29 March 1861 - 9 June 1946) was a U.S. Navy sailor who received the U.S. military's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic actions during the Spanish-American War. Frederick Muller was born on 29 March 1861 in Copenhagen, Denmark. After entering the U.S. Navy, he was sent to fight in the Spanish-American War aboard the USS Wompatuck. Medal of Honor Rank and organization: Mate, U.S. Navy Citation: On board the USS Wompatuck, Manzanillo, Cuba, 30 June 1898. Serving under the fire of the enemy, Muller displayed heroism and gallantry during this period. Death and Burial Lieutenant Commander Frederick Muller died on 9 June 1946. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, in Section 8, Lot 6035. |
