Francis Henry Sullivan
Petty Officer Third Class, United States Navy

United States Navy petty officer third class who was killed in action, along with his four brothers, while serving onboard USS Juneau (CL-52) after she was sunk by a Japanese torpedo during the Battle of Guadalcanal. At the time, the Navy did not have a policy of allowing brothers to serve together on the same ship. They became known as the "Fighting Sullivan Brothers", and two Navy ship's would be named in their honor: USS The Sullivans (DD-537) and USS The Sullivans (DDG-68).DD-537 was the first Navy ship to be named after multiple people.
