Private Jerome G. Rodarte was a member of the U.S. Army serving in the Coast Artillery Corps. He was taken prisoner in May 1942 by the Japanese while he was serving in the Southwest Pacific Theater in the Philippine Islands. He died as a Prisoner of War and his body was not recovered.
