Winfield Nye Robinson In World War II, Major Winfield Nye Robinson served with the 45th Infantry Regiment, Philippine Scouts, U.S. Army. MAJ Robinson was captured and held as a Prisoner of War by Japanese forces and died while in captivity. MAJ Robinson's courageous actions and devotion to duty earned him the U.S. Army's second highest award for valor, the Distinguished Service Cross. Medals, Awards and Badges Distinguished Service Cross Memorialization The remains of Major Winfield Nye Robinson were never recovered. He is memorialized by having his name inscribed on the Walls of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Capital District, National Capital Region, Philippines. |
