Joseph E. McLaughlin A 1946-dated letter from USMC HQ, addressed to his parents (Mr. & Mrs. John MCLaughlin of Carrollton, MO), states his remains are interred in Grave 4668, US Armed Forces Cemetery 1, Santa Barbara, Luzon, Philippine Islands. It adds positive ID was made through dental charts. The letter apologizes for the inability to furnish this information at an earlier date. Signed by Captain M.G. Craig, Captain, U.S. Marine Corps. Top of letter states: Serial 841829 DGU-894-mls. Letter, along with photos and fuel ration booklet, was found at auction in Kansas City, Missouri.
