Salvatore Buscemo Salvatore Buscemo was born on 4 July 1894 in Santa Croce, Italy, the son of Raffaela Buscemo. At the time he was drafted, he was employed as a buttonhole maker and living with his mother at 205 Avenue A, in New York City, NY. Buscemo was inducted into the U.S. Army in New York City, NY, on 3 April 1918. Private Buscemo was processed through the 1st Prov Battalion, 152nd Depot Brigade at Camp Upton, NY, from 4-19 April 1918 and then sent by ship to Europe. He arrived overseas on 17/18 May 1918. Private Buscemo was assigned to Company M, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division when he was Killed in Action on 30 August 1918. Medals World War I Victory Medal Burial Private Salvatore Buscemo is buried at Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial in Waregem, West Flanders (West-Vlaanderen), Belgium, in Plot C, Row 2, Grave 16.
