Biography:

Private Hendrix was a member of the 3rd Squad, 1st Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy at Jukmi Pass, three miles north of Osan, South Korea as a member of Task Force Smith on 5 July 1950.

Hendrix was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the Task Force Smith Certificate of Valor.
