Lewis Blaine Fisher
First Lieutenant, U.S. Army Air Forces

On 28 August 1944, then-First Lieutenant Ross Hamilton Calvert, Jr. was serving with 3rd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Seventh U.S. Army.

On that day, 1LT Davis’ unit was in action against German forces. 1LT Davis’ courageous actions and extraordinary heroism that day earned him the U.S. Army's second highest award for valor, the Distinguished Service Cross.
