Daniel Leopold Flynn was born on 22 November 1950.

On 1 April 1970, Private First Class Daniel Leopold Flynn was serving with 1st Platoon, D Troop, 17th Cavalry, 199th Infantry Brigade, in Binh Thuy Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Flynn was killed in action by undefined causes. His body was recovered. Flynn was posthumously promoted to Corporal.
