Omar R. Billett On 5 March 1945, Captain Omar R. Billett was serving with Company B, 20th Armored Infantry Battalion, 10th Armored Division, Seventh U.S. Army. On that day, CPT Billett's Company B was in action against German forces in the Rhineland Region of Germany in the European Theater of Operations. CPT Billett's courageous actions and extraordinary heroism that day earned him the U.S. Army's second highest award for valor, the Distinguished Service Cross. On 5 April 1945, CPT Billett died of his wounds. Medals, Awards and Badges Distinguished Service Cross Distinguished Service Cross Citation (Synopsis) Captain (Infantry) Omar R.
