Monzie Durrel Edmonds was born on 17 January 1946.

On 11 February 1968, Private First Class Monzie Durrel Edmonds was serving with CACO Alpha-3, 3rd Combined Action Group, Combined Action, III Marine Amphibious Force, in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Edmonds was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
