Gerald Jay Dowjotas
Sergeant, U.S. Army

Gerald Jay Dowjotas was born on 16 July 1949 in Chicago, IL, the son of Julius J. and June M. Dowjotas. He entered the U.S. Army on 18 May 1970 in Chicago, IL.

On 28 June 1971, Sergeant Gerald Jay Dowjotas was serving with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, in South Vietnam.

On that day, SGT Dowjotas was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
